Colgate Oral Health Month September 2014

18 / 09 / 2014

Colgate Oral Health Month!

Colgate Oral Health Month promotes oral hygiene. Every day, Colgate is making a difference by helping to create healthy smiles for children around the world.

Perfect tips to keep your children’s mouths healthy!

  • Brush your teeth twice a day for 2 minutes with fluoride toothpaste, most importantly before bed time!
  • Get a guardian to supervise children up to the age of 7
  • Don’t rinse after brushing teeth, spit but no rinse! Keep as much fluoride in the mouth to protect the teeth
  • Reduce the amount of sugar frequency; try keep to 4 sugar exposures a day including meal times. Drink plenty of water
  • If recommended any mouth wash by your dentist use this at separate times to brushing, lunch time or mid afternoon to increase protection throughout the day.
  • Always be careful when playing sports as teeth can be knocked quite easily and cause pain, mouth guards are recommended, ask your dentist if you would benefit from this.
  • Attend the dentist regularly for advice on how to keep teeth and gums healthy. Start as you mean to go, a good routine sets a good example to children regularly visiting the dentist.
